About Mr. Vienna
ANTHONY M. VIENNA practices as a transactional attorney in Los Angeles, California. He received his J.D. in June of 1969 from the University of Southern California School of Law where he served on the Law Review and was admitted to the California State Bar in 1970. He was formerly Secretary of the Legislative Steering Committee and Chairman of the Los Angeles County Bar Taxation Section and the Editor of its Taxation Section Newsletter. Mr. Vienna is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant and practiced as an accountant for two years. He is also a former Revenue Agent and Estate Tax Examiner for the Internal Revenue Service. He has had a variety of experiences in public accounting and private law practice. He has written extensively in the general field of taxation and employee benefits, and has been a lecturer in the Masters of Business Taxation Program of the U.S.C. Graduate School of Business, a lecturer for American Management Association, a speaker for the U.S.C. Tax Institute and a speaker before various professional and business associations.
Mr. Vienna's practice has historically covered a wide range of corporate and tax matters affecting business clients, including business formations and limited stock offerings, acquisitions and mergers as well as corporate reorganizations other business transactions. He also has extensive experience setting up both executive and broad based deferred compensation programs, including incentive stock options, non-qualified options, phantom stock and SAR Plans. He also has formed qualified benefit plans for his clients and has a general background in ERISA matters. As an outgrowth of his income tax, ERISA and transactional background, he has been involved in numerous leveraged ESOP transactions as well.
The focus of Mr. Vienna's practice for the last several years has been to offer a fully integrated tax and legal perspective to clients dealing with business growth or continuity and/or equity transitions. His experience in securities law, income tax, ERISA and corporate law issues affecting business enterprises uniquely positions him to offer comprehensive and effective solutions to business issues confronting clients who are endeavoring to establish and implement strategic plans for their companies.
